Woods: Red Oak, Figured Maple, Walnut, Purple Heart, and Baltic Birch plywood

Tile: Motawi Tile Works “Pine Landscape-Mountain (Summer)”

The carcass and top of the clock are made of Red Oak.  The clock face is made from figured Maple, notice the contiguous grain pattern.  The clock markers plugs are Purple Heart, the plugs on the top of the clock are Walnut.  The top has a gentle bevel along the front and sides and the bottom of the sides have an arc, all part of the Craftsman style.  The back of the clock is Baltic Birch plywood.  The hand painted tile is Pine Landscape-Mountain (Summer).  Java gel stain gives the Red Oak it’s deep brown color.  4 coats of natural Danish Oil are applied to protect the wood stain.  4 coats of Lemon paste wax are applied to protect the finish.
