CRAFTSMAN CLOCK WITH BLUE DRAGONFLY
CRAFTSMAN CLOCK WITH BLUE DRAGONFLY
Woods: Red Oak, Figured Maple, Wenge, Baltic Birch Plywood
Tile: Motawi Tile Works “Dragonfly”
The carcass and top of the clock are made of White Oak. The clock face is made from figured Maple, notice the contiguous grain pattern. The clock markers and top plugs are Wenge. The back of the clock is Baltic Birch plywood. The hand painted tile is of Dragonfly. I incorporated the natural bark edge when building this clock. The clock is finished with 4 coats of natural Danish Oil and 4 coats of paste wax. Note: Dragonfly in Japanese culture is symbolic of happiness, strength, courage and success.
