NGC 6960 Western Veil Nebula

The Western Veil nebula is part of the Veil nebula found in the constellation Cygnus. The nebula is a cloud of heated and ionized gases and dust, remnants of a supernova which exploded between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago. It is approximately 2,400 light years from earth. This image was captured in my backyard with a telescope and dedicated astrophotography camera.

Orion 50mm guide scope and ZWO ASI120mini camera

ZWO ASI294MC Pro dedicated astrophotography camera

ZWO Electronic Automatic Focuser

ZWO ASIAIR Plus computer

Optolong L-extreme narrowband filter

ZWO AM5 mount

Imaging data:

Lights:  40 x 5-minute exposures

Darks:  24 x 5 minutes exposures

Flats and Dark Flats:  60 exposures

Processing software:

Pixinsight
